A rough map showing Victoria Falls and the surrounding area.
Remember that the Victoria Falls form the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe so don't forget your passports
The canoe trails operate above Victoria Falls and are the perfect activity for those who want to experience the tranquility of the Zambezi River as they paddle downstream with the current inflatable two-man canoes.
The trails begin approximately 25km upstream from the Victoria Falls and during the day about 18km is spent canoeing with a stop at an island for lunch.
At the end of the day, the trip reaches the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park boundary where clients are met by vehicles for a drive through the National park.
In the park, clients have a good opportunity for spotting the endangered white rhino. The safari ends at the Zambezi Waterfront.
Overnight canoe safaris camp on an island. Sundowner drinks are enjoyed before dinner and a night to remember is experienced beneath the African stars. The following morning clients have the option of paddling approximately two hours downstream to the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park for a take-out. Alternatively the safari can end at Thorntree River Lodge which entails an hour's paddle.
Jet boating is a thrilling new adventure on the Zambezi River in the Batoka Gorge below the Victoria Falls. Feel the wind in your hair and the spray in your face as the powerful jet boats speed through rapids, rush past gorge walls and spin on the flat water.
The 30 minute jet boat trip can be combined with a spectacular helicopter flight (from a heli pad by the river) through the gorge flying just above the water level and then over the Victoria Falls. This dramatic heli flight is available either in to / out of the gorge.
Or why not enjoy a full day's white water rafting to rapid number 21 where you meet the jet boat for a ride before walking (or helicopter) out of the gorge...
The sport involves "surfing" the rapids on body boards accompanied by a qualified River Guide. Basic riverboarding skills are taught in still water before progressing into moving water. Enthusiastic boarders can stop at "play spots" along the way to surf, ride whirlies and "squirt" (best described as flying underwater).
All you need is to be reasonably fit and be prepared to "Go for it!"

The Waterfront operates two cruise vessels from the property - the "MV Makumbi" and the "Jambesi". Both vessels are suitable for private functions and can be booked on an exclusive basis on request.
The cruise is along the river boundary of the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park, around Siloka Island and back to The Waterfront jetty.
The total cruise time is approximately 3 hours. Sunset cruises arrive back after sunset. From the boats, sightings or elephant, giraffe and even rhino coming down to the river to drink are common. There is also abundant, hippos, crocodiles and birdlife.
All cruises have a complimentary bar and serve freshly baked snacks. An experienced guide accompanies each cruise and has good knowledge on the wildlife and local history of the area.
