The setting for Element's is one of the biggest factors in its favor. The surrounding terrain varies between natural hillsides and open plains, with mountain views and streams. The golf course meanders through a fertile valley of indigenous vegetation and artful landscaping. Sustainability and the quality of the golf courses playing surface, is ensured by the more than adequate water reserves.
More than anything, Peter Matkovich believes that golf is not just about scoring; it is a walk in the park, an experience for all the senses and hours of incomparable therapy. Golfers should leave the course with an irresistible urge to return. The golf course is just the excuse needed to get out there and enjoy it.
The tranquil setting belies the challenging nature of the Annika Sorenstam-signature Euphoria 18-hole Championship Golf Course. Designed with a serious commitment to the preservation of the indigenous fauna and flora, it is the combination of golf and the unsurpassed beauty of the Waterberg landscape that makes Euphoria such a unique golfing experience. Wide golf corridors will ensure privacy to golfers and homeowners alike.
Euphoria golf course is a unique blend of bushveld golf with wide, undulating fairways, wild grasses and deep bunkers which gives it a links like feel on many of the holes. Aptly named Euphoria – the idyllic state of well being – the course nestles in the foothills of the Waterberg Mountain Range 10 kilometers from Naboomspruit (Mookgophong). Eugene Marais, the renowned poet and naturalist wrote “where every morning from the highest cliffs, the eagle swiftly circles upwards to greet the sun blazing in the growing sky”.
This unique and demanding golf course bears the signature of the world`s former number one lady golfer – Annika Sorenstam. According to Annika “I designed the course the way I play the game where you have to think about every shot. The course will favour the strategic player rather than the big hitters”. The detailed design work was undertaken by European Golf Design Company – a London based joint venture company between the European P.G.A Tour and International Management Group. This is the first design by EGD in South Africa and Annika`s second signature golf course after Mission Hills in China.
Each of the 18 holes has four tee boxes of equal size suitably elevated to provide the player with a good view of the hole in play and with vistas over the estate and surrounding bushveld plains. This modern golf course is long measuring 7,055 meters off the white tees; 6,540 meters off the blue tees; 5,960 meters off the green tees and 5,145 meters off the front red tees.
Each hole is unique in its own right with several holes crossing a natural water ravine which runs through the property.

A visit to the Hans Merensky Hotel and Spa can only be enhanced by a game of Golf on the world famous course set in a unique bushveld atmosphere. Share your experience with resident Giraffe, Hippo, Crocodiles and many other permanent residents! The 18 hole Bob Grimsdell designed Par 72 Championship Golf course has been voted as the best walking course in the country. Hans Merensky Golf Course, Phalaborwa, is bordered by the Kruger National Park near the Phalaborwa Gate and many of the Park's inhabitants pay scant regard to fencing. Particularly during the drier, winter months, elephants, several species of antelope, giraffe, warthogs and even the big cats can be spotted.
An unusual benefit to the enjoyment of a round is that the land on which the course is built once formed part of the Park. Magnificent bushveld trees line the fairways and form backdrops to the holes, giving the impression that the course is far older than its 30 years. From the moment one enters the club grounds, one realises that this is a uniquely African experience - monkeys leap above the enormous trees near the clubhouse, which is said to have the biggest thatched roof in the country.
The course is truly a revelation. It has hosted many high-profile professional and amateur tournaments, a measure of its widely acknowledged quality. There is not a single weak hole, but from the forward trees, the novice is sure to thoroughly enjoy the round.

Situated in the Limpopo Province, Koro Creek offers all the amenities of a golf resort, a lodge and a nature reserve. Koro Creek is perfect for the family, from close encounters with wildlife on the golf course to the game reserve - there is something for everyone. This area is malaria-free and adjoining the estate is an 860 hectare nature reserve, which, incorporated into the estate, allows the game to roam free!
This 18 hole championship golf course is a true challenge with the fairways narrowing as you enter onto the green. Make sure you bring along your putting game as putting on the fast slopey greens can be a factor and it is easy to drop a shot if you are not on top of your putting game.
The clubhouse hosts a restaurant, bar, pro shop and conference facilities. The Clubhouse and Restaurant overlooking the course has been designed with every comfort in mind and a well-equipped Proshop with resident Pro will take care of all your golfing needs. The moderate all year round climate is perfect for a round of golf no matter the season!
The Legend Golf & Safari Resort presents a world first, namely a championship golf course designed by eighteen of the world’s top golfers. It is at once the longest golf course in South Africa, providing all golfers, irrespective of their handicap, the experience of a true African challenge. The course has flowing fairways which wind through the open grasslands and dense bush. The sheer scale of the golf course, with gently undulating greens and strategic bunkering ensures a unique golfing experience with breathtaking views of the Waterberg mountains as a backdrop.
EXTREME 19TH The 19th hole’s teebox is set high up on the impressive Hanglip Mountain and accessible only by helicopter. This par 3 hole measures 830 metres from tee to green and is played from a vertical height of 430 metres, making it the highest and most dramatic par 3 in the world. With advanced technology in the form of four separate cameras and the latest tracking equipment, the golfer can follow and capture the tee shot and the flight of the ball. The fairway is seeded with Cynodon grass and contoured to funnel the ball to the green below. In celebration of the African Renaissance, the green has been shaped like the map of Africa and is protected by a large waste bunker.
